Classes & Trips - What to Bring page.
For all trips and classes on the water you need to consider a couple of things and bring a few things.
1. WATER -1. Know what the water is like [how cold? How likely you will be in it?] The water in our classes and trips [Reston Lakes,Potomac, Seneca Creek, Chesapeake is always relatively cold save mid summer. Winter 40's, Spring early 50's late 60's, Summer 70's-80's. If the Air is cold, windy, cloudy, rainy you will have a problem if not properly dressed. You may not be able to get warm if you get wet. If the air is warm, you won't have a problem if you get wet if you can just get out of the water dry off and let the air warm you up.
2. WEATHER and Other - We go in most weather, wind, hot and cold, wet and dry. Know what the weather is like and will be like on the trip.
3. Clothing - generally wear synthetic shorts, shirts and jackets that will dry quickly, not cotton jeans and sweats.Nylon windbreakers maybe.
4. Your feet WILL GET WET, so sandals, dive shoes, old tennis shoes etc, not your best Gucci's.
5. Water and food- bring a water bottle(s), snacks and food.
6.Eye glass strap and for L 2 maybe a swimmers nose clip if sensitive to water in the snoz.
7. Hat for sun, sunscreen, lip gloss etc
